On the 20th of November 2011 my nephew and his girlfriend left Grahamstown on an epic bike ride to Windhoek. This ride covered more than 2000 km's, over three countries in 20 days. This is that story. Grahamstown, Bedford, Cradock, Middelburg, Hanover, Phillipstown, Orania, Hopetown, Kimberley, Warrenton, Vryburg, Ganyesa, Bray, Werda, Khakhea, Bulukubalo, Morwametsi, Kang, Thootsa, Buitepos, Gobabis, Witvlei, Seeis, Windhoek!

Spoke to Karin this evening. They had a good day and met wonderful people at the stop/go signs between Cradock and Middelburg. They met somebody on a Harley Davidson who had 4 crosses with him which he was going to plant North, South, East and West of SA. They stayed with the Hendry's and the Copemans the first two nights. Just want to thank those good folk. She did say that they have learned to respect the sun. From Grahamstown to Bedford was the worst, the road, weather and miggies. Love you lots and enjoy!!!
ReplyDeleteI hope that they are collecting contact details of wonderful people such as the Harley person along the way- it would be so nice to let them know when AJ and Karin have arrived safely!
